The State of Tennessee surface parking lot, located at 637 Rosa L. Parks Blvd., The Boring Company seeks to lease related to future work on its Music City Loop

After initial skepticism from commissioners, the State Building Commission voted Monday to move forward with a process to select a developer for a proposed redevelopment of 10 acres of surface parking lots near the state Capitol in downtown Nashville.

This comes after a proposal from the Tennessee Department of General Services to issue a request for qualifications (RFQ) for a future mixed-use development, which could include residential, hotel, retail and public space and provide parking for state employees.
