Boring Company parking lot

The State of Tennessee surface parking lot, located at 637 Rosa L. Parks Blvd., The Boring Company seeks to lease related to future work on its Music City Loop

A divided State Building Commission voted Wednesday to delay approval of procurement processes related to the development of 10 acres of surface parking lots located in the northern segment of downtown Nashville.

The commission — comprising the state’s top Republican lawmakers and Gov. Bill Lee administration officials — debated how to move forward with a proposal from the Tennessee Department of General Services to issue a request for qualifications (RFQ) for a future mixed-use development, which could include residential, hotel, retail and public space and provide parking for state employees.
