State parking lots slated for potential development

A mix of local and national developers are eyeing to transform 10 acres of state-owned downtown parking lots — currently, in part, a construction site for The Boring Company’s work on the Music City Loop tunnel effort — with mixed-use development.

Eight companies have submitted notices of intent to respond to the state’s request for qualifications for the project, which includes the opportunity to redevelop the site of the James K. Polk State Office Building (the current home of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center).
