VUMC lands $22.5M federal grant for AIDS work

Dr. Stephen Raffanti

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has been awarded a five-year approximately $22.5 million federal grant to continue the coordination of AIDS education and training efforts in eight Southeast states.

Specifically, the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program receives about $33.6 million a year in funding from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Of that, the Southeast AETC this year received a renewal grant that provided about $4.5 million in FY19 and the roughly $22.5 million over five years. VUMC administers the grant monies, which are spread over the aforementioned eight-state consortium.
