Mayor Freddie O’Connell announced Tuesday the hiring of IT industry veteran Shawn Smith as Metro’s chief information officer, effective March 16.

A release notes Smith replaces Keith Durbin, who retired in 2024. John Griffey, who has served as interim CIO since Durbin’s departure, will resume his role as Metro's chief information security officer.
