It’s no secret that Nashville is facing a housing crisis. Home prices continue to increase as reports detail the need for 90,000 units over the next decade.

As one attempt at addressing the city’s affordable and attainable housing issues, the Metro Council passed zoning legislation last year to allow for more townhomes, courtyards and triplex and quadplex housing. The council also passed a bil expanding options for detached accessory dwelling units — like carriage houses and garage apartments — in the city.
