Industry giant Sodexho (SDX) has acquired Franklin-based Patriot Medical Technologies Inc., a medical equipment company backed by Clayton McWhorter's Clayton Associates and American Capital Strategies (ACAS).

Formed in 1997, Patriot provides maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Sodexho will use its purchase of Patriot to launch a new strategic business unit known as Sodexho Clinical Equipment Services. That unit will service maintenance and repair needs for everything from basic medical equipment to complex imaging machines.
