Corizon finds CMO at CHS

Prison health care provider Corizon has hired a veteran of Community Health Systems and Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be its chief medical officer.

James “Pete” Powell comes to Brentwood-based Corizon after spending more than three and a half years at CHS, where he was vice president of physician practice services. In that role, he managed all of the company's groups, which had 14,000 employees and 4,000 clinicians in 21 states. Before that, he was assistant CMO at VUMC for more than seven years, a role he took on after nearly two decades as a physician and clinic administrator.
