A major multimodal freight project is planned for the developing Ashland City River Port, with Nashville-based Ingram Marine Group to participate in the effort. 

In a news release on Monday, the Tennessee Department of Transportation announced the approximately $33 million Cheatham County project will involve the construction of an inland port along the Cumberland River with the intent to increase connectivity and offer more freight options.
