Two automobile insurance companies have moved their headquarters to Nashville from Minnesota months after a group led by former Direct General and First Acceptance leader Steve Harrison acquired them.

As do Direct General and First Acceptance, Mendota Insurance and Mendakota Insurance market to harder-to-insure drivers. Harrison and his team expect their 2020 written premiums to be $130 million. By way of comparison, First Acceptance had 2017 revenues from its insurance operations of about $350 million.
