BofA buys health care payments player

A patient payments technology venture that counts local players Nashville Capital Network and i3 Verticals among its owners has been bought by Bank of America.

Terms of the financial giant’s deal for Axia Technologies aren’t being disclosed. Axia, which is formally headquartered in California and has executive offices in Nashville, was launched in 2015 to give health care providers better payment systems and billing workflows. For BofA officials, the Axia purchase both builds out their health care offerings and adds to their merchant services lineup, which the bank is building up after dissolving a joint venture with Fiserv last year.
