Plans for a future Nashville Fire Department headquarters building are progressing, with design details and images having been submitted to the Metro Planning Department.

The future facility will sit at 500 Second Ave. N. in downtown’s North Capitol neighborhood and replace the previous headquarters site, which had been located in downtown’s Rutledge Hill at 63 Hermitage Ave. before relocating in September to the former Global Mall in Antioch. The address of the temporary headquarters is 5244 Hickory Hollow Parkway.
