Ashley Bachelder

After several years of shuffling leadership and intra-department turmoil, the Metro Arts Commission has officially appointed Ashley Bachelder as executive director.

Bachelder has served in the interim director role for more than 18 months, administering more than $9.6 million to organizations and artist projects, according to a press release. She also led the agency’s response and compliance efforts following a 2024 audit finding issues of mismanagement and financial concerns.
