Big board shuffle at Acadia

The board of directors of Acadia Healthcare took on a new look recently as the behavioral health care provider took big steps to comply with governance requirements that took effect a year ago.

On April 30, six directors who are executives at Chicago-based Waud Capital Partners stepped down. Bradley Eckmann, Christopher Graber, Matthew London, Matthew Clary, Eric Gordon and David Neighbours did so to give Acadia room to add independent directors. Waud has since early last year cut its stake in Franklin-based Acadia to 29 percent from 57 percent, which meant Acadia was no longer considered a controlled company by Nasdaq officials and needed to have a majority of independent directors on its board.
