Emdeon acquires Change Healthcare

Revenue cycle management company Emdeon is acquiring Change Healthcare for $135 million, marking the Nashville company's entrance into the consumer engagement market.

The purchase price also includes the availability of up to an additional $50 million based on financial performance targets through 2017. Through the deal, Emdeon will integrate Change Healthcare's transparency tools to help reduce costs for health plan members and employers alongside the company's existing cost management solutions.
