Paul Ketchel, CEO of Brentwood-based MDsave, opened his Health:Further presentation Wednesday with some statistics on high-deductible health plans. Ninety percent of U.S. employers offer these consumer-driven plans to their employees and 25 percent of businesses offer only a high-deductible option. He noted that his data were from 2015, but that more recent statistics would only make his case stronger.

“We now know now that a lot of Americans are going to be out of pocket and that health care expense is going to matter to them,” he said.
