Rangers trade ex-'Dore Minor to first-place A’s

The Oakland Athletics bolstered their pitching staff in hopes of finishing the MLB season atop the American League West division after acquiring former All-Star pitcher Mike Minor from the Texas Rangers on Monday.

Oakland sent two players to be named later and international slot money to Texas in exchange for the former Vanderbilt hurler. The A’s sit in first place in the AL West with a 22-12 record — the third-best in the league.
