Vanderbilt taps Clemson exec for CFO, vice chancellor for finance position

Vanderbilt University has selected a top Clemson University leader to serve as the next vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer.

Vanderbilt Chancellor Daniel Diermeier announced Monday the appointment of longtime financial executive Rick Petillo to the position. Petillo comes to Vanderbilt with more than two decades of experience working in higher education and corporate finance, most recently serving as senior vice president for finance and operations and chief financial officer at Clemson University. He will officially join Vanderbilt on Nov. 1 and report directly to Diermeier.
