Residential development eyed for Germantown-area site

A residential development that would combine townhomes and condominium flats is being eyed for a site located near Germantown.

According to a document submitted to the Metro Planning Department, the development will offer 21 residences (12 townhomes and nine condos in a three-story building) at 1609 Fourth Ave. N. in Salemtown. A modernist apartment building — constructed in a suburban manner with one of its sides (instead of its facade) oriented toward the street — sits on the property and would need to be razed.
