Nashville Predators President Jack Diller announced internally to his organization Monday afternoon that he will halt running the day-to-day operations of the team and instead focus exclusively on selling the team to the corporate community. Diller will retain the title of team president.

No replacement for Diller will be named, sources say. Those duties will be spread around to existing employees, which should save the team some money over the next few months. The current collective bargaining agreement between the National Hockey League owners and players expires in September. A protracted labor dispute that will likely cancel the upcoming season is widely predicted.
