Penn State assistant named new Tennessee DC

After weeks of speculation, the Tennessee Volunteers finally have their defensive coordinator.

As first reported by Pete Thamel of Yahoo! Sports, and later confirmed by the university, UT is set to hire Penn State co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Tim Banks to run the Vols defense. He joins defensive line coach Rodney Garner, whom UT hired last week.
