Endorsements pile up as primaries near

Candidates for Congress and the state legislature continue to tally new endorsements as early voting for the Aug. 6 primary elections nears.

In one of the more closely watched races of the cycle, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Manny Sethi last week touted the endorsement of former East Tennessee U.S. Rep. Jimmy Duncan. The endorsement follows the announcement in recent weeks that another former Republican congressman, Zach Wamp of Chattanooga, was supporting Sethi, a surgeon in Nashville.
