Museum Commission slammed for Sunday meeting

The next step in the search for a new executive director for the Tennessee State Museum will take place late on a Sunday afternoon in October, drawing complaints of a less-than-transparent process.

Late Friday afternoon, museum staff sent notice of the Oct. 10 meeting of the full Douglas Henry State Museum Commission to its members. The email included notices for meetings of the Collections Acquisitions Committee, the Audit Committee, and the Search Committee, which is in charge of finding a replacement for outgoing longtime director Lois Riggins-Ezzell.
