Recreating a corridor

In South Nashville, nonprofit community center Conexión Américas is leading efforts to thoughtfully manage development of the Nolensville Pike corridor — a major artery of the city — in ways that enhance rather than eliminate the neighborhood character.

An area that has attracted a strong immigrant population during the last 25 or so years, Nolensville Pike represents a major portion of Nashville’s ethnic diversity. Many restaurants and shops along the corridor — from Dunya Kabob Restaurant to La Hacienda Taquería — are immigrant owned and showcase the cultures of their owners.
