Masami Tyson

Last summer — just a few months before Mayor Freddie O’Connell marked the halfway point in his current term — his office announced Masami Tyson would step in as chief of staff.

A Nashvillian for 30 years, Tyson came into the top adviser position at the mayor’s office with more than two decades of experience working as a lawyer across a wide range of industries. She also previously worked in state government as global director of foreign direct investment and trade at the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
