Downtown Partnership, Pillars Development launch public restroom study

As downtown Nashville continues to grow, the construction of additional public restrooms could soon be in the works.

The Nashville Downtown Partnership and Pillars Development have launched a planing initiative and study related to future public restroom facilities downtown. The initiative is funded through the Downtown Public Safety Grant, awarded by the state to NDP in partnership with Metro Nashville. The grant stirred controversy this winter when the Metro Council approved the funds for public safety purposes but rejected its use for additional surveillance cameras downtown. Many residents pushed for the funds to be allocated towards homelessness outreach.
