A beer permit has applied for related to The Cellar Bar, planned to open in August in a downtown building located at 211 Third Ave. N.

Veteran local real estate investor Gary Bowie and Mike Penner will partner to own and operate the business, which is a second iteration of Beer Sellar. Penner had operated that watering hole since 1996 from a building located at 107 Church St. before closing after the Christmas Day bombing in 2020.
