Nashville-based development firm The Mainland Companies has sold a segment of the Chestnut Hill property for which it eyes a mixed-use building — with the buyer a Grammy-winning mixer, producer and engineer.

According to a Davidson County Register of Deeds document, Reid Shippen paid $2.5 million for the property, which sits near downtown’s southern fringe and offers an address of 300 McCann St. An empty structure once home to adult entertainment club Pure Gold’s Crazy Horse sits on the site.
