Burch builds stake in beaten-up AAC

Lucius Burch III

Veteran local investor and entrepreneur Lucius Burch did some bargain hunting — or at the very least dollar-cost averaging — last week, spending more than $160,000 to snap up shares of addiction treatment provider AAC Holdings.

Burch has since 2012 been a director of Brentwood-based AAC, which hit a very rough patch last summer when a Google search algorithm change gutted its pipeline of prospective patients. Since then, the company’s leaders have sought to assuage investors and lay out a new growth plan, albeit to no avail: AAC shares have been more than cut in half this year and recently broke below $1.
