Report: More sports betting outfits apply

With legalized sports betting setting to go live next week in Tennessee, three more operators are seeking to join the group of approved sports books.

According to TNBets, the three new outfits — Churchill Downs, William Hill and Wynn — have all filed applications with the Tennessee Education Lottery. Lottery officials have not said when those applications will be considered.

The regulators previously approved applications from BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel and Tennessee Action 24/7, which are expected to be the only operators available when betting commences on Nov. 1.

The Tennessee General Assembly approved legalized sports betting in 2019, though Gov. Bill Lee refused to sign the bill, instead allowing it to become law without his signature.
