Sarah Cannon hires Mayo professor

Sarah Cannon, the cancer research arm of HCA Healthcare, has recruited a consultant and profession at the Mayo Clinic to lead its gastrointestinal cancer research work.

Axel Grothey had been with Minnesota-based Mayo since 2003 and was a professor in its medical oncology division. In his new role, he will oversee Sarah Cannon’s investigation of therapies for colorectal, stomach, esophageal, pancreatic and other types of gastrointestinal cancers.
