Quorum sees big boost from new revenue cycle deal

The leaders of Quorum Health say they expect to reap $10 million worth of benefits before year’s end from a new revenue cycle management services contract.

Quorum executives earlier this month announced a deal with the R1 RCM, the publicly traded company that last year paid $460 million for Intermedix, the fast-growing RCM venture that had moved its headquarters to Nashville from Florida in 2015. R1 is taking the place of Community Health Systems, which owned Quorum’s hospitals before spinning them out three years ago and had continued to handle various back-office tasks for Quorum through deals that had gone very sour and landed in the court system.
