Jennifer Watson

When scientist Jennifer Watson saw horseshoe crabs for the first time, she found them endearing. When she learned of the scientific practice of harvesting their blood, she became determined to save them from the practice.

“I loved them because they're [approximately] 500 million years old — they are these ancient critters,” Watson tells the Post. “They move old. They don't move modern. I liked to go down to the tank and watch them.”
