HCA unit chief named chief operating officer at HealthSouth

The head of HCA's $2 billion-in-revenue Gulf Coast division has accepted the post of chief operating officer for HealthSouth in Birmingham.

Mike Snow, 49, will lead day-to-day operations of the outpatient surgery and rehabilitation services company beginning on June 30. He will be joining HealthSouth CEO Jay Grinney, who left HCA last month after serving as the head of the hospital company's eastern group.
