Gov Ops Committee rebukes State Museum Commission

The past two weeks have been rough on the Tennessee State Museum.

First there was the employee who was fired for bringing a firearm into the office (among multiple other offenses). Then there was the announcement that the hundreds of eyeglasses the museum store had sold to safely view the eclipse were not, in fact, safe, and had to be returned. And then on Tuesday morning, the General Assembly's Joint Government Operations Rule Review Committee grilled museum executive director Ashley Howell and Douglas Henry State Museum Commission chair Tom Smith over new operating policies adopted last month.
