Shares of some of Nashville’s most prominent — and troubled — health care companies fell Friday after President Donald Trump took steps to cut subsidies to insurance companies marketing on exchanges set up under the Affordable Care Act.

Late in Friday trading, Community Health Systems shares were changing hands at $5.78, near their 2017 lows and down 3.6 percent on the day. Quorum Health, which was spun out of CHS a year and a half ago, was off nearly 7 percent. At one point in early trading, shares of both companies had been down about 10 percent.
