Vanderbilt poll finds Americans concerned about nation’s future

The latest Vanderbilt University poll finds that Americans regardless of political party share anxieties about the nation’s future.

The poll from the Vanderbilt Project on Unity and American Democracy shows that a bipartisan majority of 89 percent agree (and 74 percent strongly agree) that Democrats and Republicans need to stop fighting and start working together. Only 26 percent of the those polled thinks U.S. involvement in conflicts in areas like the Middle East will make Americans safer. Of note, the poll was taken before the Feb. 28 start of U.S. military strikes on Iran.
