Historic downtown building eyed for private school

Downtown Nashville is slated for its first private school — to be located in an historic masonry building that once accommodated Vanderbilt University, no less.

Washington, D.C.-based Blyth-Templeton Academy is eyeing a fall 2019 opening for the co-ed college preparatory school, which will serve students in the fifth through 12th grades and have an annual tuition of about $15,000. The school is actively seeking students and teachers, according to Head of School Kalee Willingham Barbis.
