The Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee voted Tuesday to approve the concept plan related to updates proposed to the exterior of downtown Nashville’s Fifth Third Center.

According to a document submitted to MDHA, the property’s owner are seeking a major alteration to the entrance of post-modern high-rise. Images show the five large columns currently part of the building’s front plaza are slated to be removed. The address is 424 Church St., with the office tower eyed to be transitioned to accommodate a hotel.
