The Tennessee League of Women Voters is asking the administration of Gov. Bill Haslam to put a stop to its efforts to privatize state government services until a proper transparent process has been established. The league has sent Haslam a letter asking him and his team to prove a clear need to privatize more services; the administration contends its work so far has produced great results.

Administration officials say other states see Tennessee's initial round of outsourcing in 2012 as a model. That's when the state handed over management, maintenance and leasing of major state office buildings to Chicago-based real estate giant Jones Lang LaSalle.
