About 16 months after paying $4.5 for the former home of East Nashville’s Tulip Street United Methodist Church, East End United Methodist Church has sold a portion of the property accommodating its since-razed house of worship for $1.2 million.

2021 start set for east side church rebuild

East End United Methodist Church in the aftermath of the March 2020 tornado

The just-sold 0.4-acre East End property offers an address of 201 S. 12th St. and sits next to 1212 Holly St., on which once sat the historic and handsome East End United Methodist Church structure. The building was damaged beyond repair during the 2020 tornado (read here) that did significant damage to multiple structures located in the nearby Five Points commercial district. Initially, East End United Methodist Church hoped to rebuild on the site, but ultimately decided to relocate to the Tulip Street United Methodist Church building, which is considered East End's mother church.
