Augenstein shows promise in Masters debut

Fifth-year Vanderbilt senior John Augenstein was one of just two amateur golfers to make the cut for the PGA’s 84th Annual Masters tournament at Augusta, Georgia.

The reigning SEC Player of the Year finished tied for 55th with PGA Tour standout Phil Mickelson with a plus-3 in his first time out at the Masters — three spots ahead of Vanderbilt alum Brandt Snedeker, who finished 59th with a plus-7.
