Studio Tenn names new artistic director

Franklin’s Studio Tenn theater company has recruited a veteran Broadway, film and television to be its next artistic director.

Patrick Cassidy comes to Studio Tenn from California, where he has been for the past two seasons artistic director of the 25-year-old 5-Star Theatricals company based at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks. Todd Morgan, the director of Studio Tenn, is expected to formally announce Cassidy’s hiring Wednesday. Cassidy will take over the artistic director role from Benji Kern, who has been filling in since studio founder Matt Logan stepped away a year ago.
