SmileDirectClub expands to Canada

The founders of Nashville-based SmileDirectClub, the at-home invisible aligner company, have announced their expansion to Canada.

Booming SmileDirect plans to open seven brick-and-mortar SmileShops in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Edmonton. The company — which in a release said residents of six of Canada’s 10 provinces have access to fewer than one orthodontist per 3,861 square miles — also will let customers register to receive an at-home impression kit. The approximate cost for the service is $2,350.
