Tennessee Senate Democrats retain caucus leadership despite questions

Leadership positions did not shift in the small caucus of the Tennessee Senate Democrats, but that dynamic didn't go by without intense discussion.

The six-member group has three elected members from Memphis and three from Nashville. Sen. Raumesh Akbari (D-Memphis) will stay the minority leader of the group. Sen. London Lamar (D-Memphis) will remain the caucus chair after a tie vote. Per Senate Democratic rules, a tie for the position allows the person presently holding it to remain in leadership.
