Cooper hires ECD director

Mayor John Cooper has hired Dallas’ former economic and community development sirector to run the same office for Nashville as of Monday.

Courtney Pogue will officially take office next week. In a statement, the Cooper administration points to Pogue’s track record in Dallas as one of the primary reasons for his hire. He’s credited with having secured more than 18,000 job creation commitments and he’s described as bringing an affinity for housing development to the table as well.
