Kanew, Johnson debate canceled

A Monday night forum for Tennessee’s District 7 seat has been canceled after Republican candidate and state Sen. Mark Green decided Friday not to send somebody to debate in his place.

To have been hosted by the Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, the forum would have seen Sen. Jack Johnson (R-Franklin), as a surrogate for Green, debate Justin Kanew, a College Grove Democrat running for the seat vacated by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Brentwood) at the Gordon Jewish Community Center.
