As AI capabilities quickly expand, Nashville’s colleges and universities are racing to be at the forefront of implementation.

The Tennessee Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council released an action plan last year, which recommends AI-related scholarships, apprenticeships and training through the state’s community colleges and Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology. It also pushes for the enablement of federal funds to support AI use in education — recently brought to fruition through Tennessee State University receiving a $1 million federal grant to establish a robotics, artificial intelligence, visualization and simulation laboratory.
