Lawyer suspended after real estate deal

The Tennessee Supreme Court has ordered the suspension of David Scott Parsley, a local attorney accused by former clients of tricking them into transferring a Jefferson Street property to him.

After a hearing process that lasted more than a year, the court ordered a 12-month suspension, with just three months to be served actively and the rest under probation. During the probationary period, the court ordered Parsley to pay for a practice monitor who would assess the lawyer’s case load, case management and compliance. The attorney was also ordered to pay $355 for the Board of Professional Responsibility’s costs in the matter.
