Baptists hires surgical services director

Baptist Hospital has hired Michele Toungette as planning and development director for surgical services.

Prior to joining Baptist Hospital, Toungette served as the executive director of cardiovascular services at Lourdes Hospital, Catholic Health Partners in Paducah, Ky. She also has served as chief business development officer at Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute and has held marketing related roles as marketing communications manager for Vanderbilt Medical Center and as senior director of business development and marketing with Sarah Cannon Research Institute.Toungette earned a bachelor’s degree in distributive biology and a master’s degree in health services administration from Austin Peay State University. She also earned a master’s degree in management in health care from Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Business.
